A 40-year-old Guelph man faces weapons charges after police say he was soliciting money from people waiting in a drive-thru line on Thursday morning.
Guelph police say that just after 8 a.m. Thursday a an was approaching vehicles lined up in the drive-thru of a business near the intersection of Victoria Road South.
He was soliciting money from drivers while holding a knife in front of his body.
At 8:22 a.m., police located the male inside the business, and he was subsequently arrested.
Further investigation revealed he was previously trespassed from the business in May.
A search incident to arrest revealed the man had two knives, a pellet gun and a hatchet, police report.
A 40-year-old Guelph man has been charged with:
- Weapons dangerous
- Fail to comply with probation
- Solicit in aggressive manner
- Enter premise when entry prohibited
He was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
