A Guelph man was arrested after Guelph Fire Department personnel responded to a downtown apartment building Wednesday for a false alarm.

Crews responded to a report of alarms sounding at the building on Carden Street approximately 11 a.m. There was no sign of a fire and they cleared the scene after checking the building.

Investigation of surveillance video revealed a man who does not live in the building pulling an alarm station on the second floor before leaving the building. He was located downtown by Guelph police and arrested for making a false fire alarm.
