A Guelph man was arrested Thursday in connection with six recent break-ins to west end businesses, say Guelph police.

In each of the incidents, reported between Sept. 19 and Nov. 9, windows or glass doors were smashed to gain entry and minor thefts were reported.

A suspect was identified during an investigation by the Guelph Police Service Break Enter Auto Theft Unit. On Thursday morning members of that unit and the Tactical Response Unit executed a search warrant at an address near Willow Road and Applewood Crescent and took the suspect into custody.

Suspected stolen property including tools, clothing and a large number of identity documents in various names were recovered, as well as a black BB gun.

A 35-year-old Guelph man is charged with six counts of break and enter, theft under $5,000, 11 counts related to possessing stolen property and several counts of breaching court orders. He has been held in custody for a bail hearing Nov. 24.
