A Guelph man faces several charges after someone on a moped tried to flee from police Sunday.
An officer was patrolling on Lane Street when he observed a man riding a gas-powered moped without a helmet. The officer attempted to stop the male, who drove onto a sidewalk then into a park to evade the officer. Eventually the moped was stopped on Meyer Drive. It was learned the driver was wanted by police in another jurisdiction and he was arrested.
A 39-year-old is charged with flight from police and several Highway Traffic Act offences.
