Man charged with entering business and assaulting employee

A Guelph man faces several charges after someone entered a manufacturing business last month and allegedly assaulted a staff member.

Police say just after 3 a.m. June 8, police were called to a business on Campbell Road. A man smashed a glass door with his hand before leaving the area. He then entered a second business nearby where he confronted an employee working inside. As the employee tried to escort the man from the business he was assaulted, sustaining minor injuries.

A 45-year-old Guelph man was arrested Monday. He is charged with break and enter, mischief under $5,000 and assault. He is also charged with two counts of breaching an undertaking in an unrelated incident.

He was held for a bail hearing and has been released to appear in court.
