A Guelph man faces assault and weapons charges after a cyclist was reportedly assaulted with a Taser during an altercation Wednesday night, Guelph police report.
Police say that approximately 10:20 p.m. police were called to Woolwich Street and London Road. Investigation revealed a man was walking when he got in an argument with a cyclist. The man pulled out a conducted energy weapon and repeatedly assaulted the cyclist with it. The man was also injured when the cyclist fought back and was transported to hospital for treatment.
A 63-year-old Guelph male is charged with assault with a weapon, carrying a concealed weapon, possessing a weapon for a dangerous purpose and unauthorized possession of a weapon.
