A person has been arrested after a Guelph man was taken to Guelph General Hospital with knife wounds Friday morning.
Guelph Police report that at 8:13 a.m. an argument took place between two adults males inside a commercial area in Downtown Guelph. The argument escalated, one of the males brandished a knife, attacked the male victim with it and fled the area, police say.
The victim sustained a cut to his hand and two cuts to his leg. He was transported to the Guelph General Hospital by ambulance for treatment of the non-life threatening injuries.
Twenty minutes later police located the male walking just outside the downtown core. He was subsequently arrested.
A search found a knife.
A 24-year-old Guelph man has been charged with:
- Aggravated assault
- Assault with a weapon
- Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
- Two counts of breach probation
He was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
