Man faces driving charge stemming from crash that killed Wade Brodie

TOWNSHIP OF NORTH WELLINGTON - The Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged Morgan Ottewell, 21-years-old, of Chatsworth with Careless Driving Causing Death contrary to the Highway Traffic Act in the collision that claimed the life of Wade Brodie of West Grey Township.

He is scheduled to appear in Guelph Provincial Court on April 3, 2019 to answer to the charge.

TOWNSHIP OF NORTH WELLINGTON - The Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) continue to investigate the head-on collision that occurred on Highway 6 just north of Kenilworth yesterday at approximately 6:33 p.m. Preliminary investigation reveals that a silver sports utility vehicle (SUV) travelling southbound collided with a silver sedan travelling northbound.

The driver of the sedan, 31-year-old Wade Brodie of West Grey Township was pronounced dead at the scene. The second driver, a 21-year-old male of Holland Centre transported to a local hospital and later transferred to a Hamilton hospital with serious injuries.

The Wellington County OPP is asking anyone that may have witnessed this collision to please call 1-888-310-1122.

TOWNSHIP OF NORTH WELLINGTON - This evening at approximately 6:33 p.m. the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a traffic collision involving two motor vehicles on Highway 6 just north of Kenilworth in the Township of Wellington North.

Wellington County OPP along with Dufferin Emergency Medical Services (EMS) and Wellington North Fire Service attended the scene. One of the drivers was pronounced dead at scene.

The cause of the collision is currently being investigated by OPP Technical Collision Investigators (TCI) and Highway 6 between Side Road 6 and Side Road 7 will remain closed until further notice.

The deceased will not be identified until next of kin have been notified.

A second driver was transported to a local hospital with serious injuries.
