Man faces numerous weapons charges

On Oct. 8, 2016 at approximately 4 p.m., the Guelph Police attended to 90 Carden Street, Guelph, in response to a noxious smell in the lobby.

Investigation revealed that a dispute between parties occurred in the lobby of the building. A canister of bear spray was discharged and a replica firearm was pointed at other parties in retaliation.

Through investigation the accused with the firearm was identified.

At approximately 11:07 p.m. the accused was arrested leaving his apartment in possession of a replica firearm, a baton and a knife.

A 25-year-old Guelph man has been charged with weapons dangerous, point firearm, assault with a weapon, carry concealed weapon and two counts of possession of a prohibited weapon. He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.
