Man facing multiple charges after being somewhere he wasn't supposed to be

Police allege the man was carrying cocaine and purple fentanyl at the time of the arrest

A Guelph man is facing multiple charges after police observed him leaving a residential building he was under court conditions to not to enter.

The man was allegedly observed leaving the building near the intersection of Dawson Road and Willow Road on Friday at 3:13 p.m. 

Guelph Police Service said in a news release that the man was on numerous court conditions and a trespass order not to attend to the building and was subsequently arrested.

Police say a search incident to arrest revealed:

  • 12.06 grams of cocaine ($960 value)
  • 0.98 grams of purple fentanyl ($500 value)
  • $310 in Canadian currency
  • Counterfeit $20 American bill

A 21-year-old Guelph male has been charged with:

  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking x2
  • Possess counterfeit currency
  • Fail to comply with release order x3
  • Breach probation x4

He was held in custody pending a bail hearing to be held on Tuesday.
