Man fired, then arrested, over alleged workplace sexual assault

A Guelph man was fired and arrested after a co-worker reported being repeatedly sexually assaulted Friday, say Guelph police.

Saturday afternoon, woman called police to report the assaults. On Friday afternoon she was working at a local manufacturing plant when she reported a male co-worker repeatedly touched and tried to kiss her. He also allegedly forced her to sit back down in her chair when she tried to get away from him.

She reported the assaults to her supervisor and the accused was immediately terminated, police say.

A 39-year-old man is charged with sexual assault and forcible confinement.
