Man nabbed for driving more than 100 km/h over the speed limit

The vehicle was locked on radar in excess of 180 km/h in an 80 zone

On Wednesday, Jan. 10, 2018 at approximately 2:30 a.m., a Wellington County OPP officer was monitoring traffic on Wellington Road 32 near Guelph. The officer observed a male driving a newer model coupe at a speed that appeared to be well above the posted 80 km/h speed limit. The vehicle was locked on radar in excess of 180 km/h, exceeding the posted speed limit by more than 100 km/h.

Thirty-year-old Sean Robert Hardman of Cambridge has been charged with racing a motor vehicle contrary to the Highway Traffic Act and is scheduled to appear in Guelph Provincial Court on Feb. 21, 2018. His driver's licence and vehicle were seized for a period of seven days as per statute.
