A Guelph man faces charges after another man was assaulted and threatened by a stranger downtown Tuesday afternoon.
Approximately 2:15 p.m. the victim was walking near Gordon Street and Waterloo Avenue carrying a tray with several coffees. A man walking the other way struck the tray with his hand, tossing the coffees into the air and on the victim’s face. The man also uttered a death threat before walking away.
The victim and a witness followed the suspect while calling police, who arrested the man a short distance away. The victim was not injured.
A 38-year-old is charged with assault, uttering death threats and breaching probation.
