Motorcyclists face slew of charges, including possession of meth

Three people face several charges after Guelph police pulled over a pair of motorcycles they say were travelling at a high rate of speed Wednesday.

Around 2:30 p.m. police say they observed two men driving motorcycles at a high rate of speed. They say one of the motorcycles had an imitation licence plate. One of the motorcycles had a female passenger wearing a backpack.

Once stopped near the intersection of Woodlawn Road West and Elmira Road North, investigation revealed that both men were prohibited from driving.

Search incident to arrest revealed the backpack to contain 89 grams of crystal methamphetamine valued at $1,500.

A 28-year-old Mount Forest man was charged with operating a vehicle while prohibited, driving under suspension, unauthorized plate and possession for the purpose of trafficking.

A 29-year-old Palmerston man was charged with operating a vehicle while prohibited and possession for the purpose of trafficking.

A 30-year-old Listowel woman was charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking.

All were held for a bail hearing.
