Name released in Friday's fatal motorcycle crash

TOWNSHIP OF CENTRE WELLINGTON - On May 1, 2020 at approximately 4:15 p.m., the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) along with Guelph-Wellington Paramedic Services and Centre Wellington Fire and Rescue responded to a serious motor vehicle collision involving two motorcycles and a pickup truck on Wellington Road 19 at the Sixth Line of Centre Wellington Township.

Investigation revealed that two motorcycles were travelling eastbound followed by an eastbound pickup truck when the collision occurred.

John Bott, 65 years old of Nichol Township, was operating one of the motorcycles involved in the collision. He was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries and was later pronounced deceased.

A female motorcycle operator was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries and later released. The driver of the pickup truck was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries and later released.

The Wellington County OPP along with West Region OPP Technical Collision Investigators (TCI) continue to investigate the collision.
