Officers smell pot. Drug charge follows

On Dec. 2, 2017 at approximately 9:45 p.m., Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were conducting Reduced Impaired Driving Everywhere (RIDE) checks on County Road 124 at Watson Road North, Township of Guelph-Eramosa.

A male operating a 2016 Ford entered the RIDE check. Officers detected the odour of fresh marijuana from inside the vehicle. The driver was arrested and a search of the motor vehicle resulted in a quantity of marijuana being seized.

Thirty-two-year-old Ibrahim Saleh of Guelph has been charged with possession of marijuana over 30 grams. He is scheduled to appear in Guelph Criminal Court on Dec. 29, 2017 to answer to the charge.
