One accused of stealing from the same retail store twice

On Jan. 13, 2021, at approximately 9:30 a.m. Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police received a report of a theft from a business located on Tower Street in Fergus.

It was reported that on Jan. 10, 2021 at approximately 1:45 p.m. two suspects entered the store. A male suspect distracted an employee while a female suspect concealed several cosmetic products in her clothing.

The suspects then left the store making no attempt to pay for the stolen property.

The stolen goods were valued at over two thousand dollars.

On Jan. 21, 2021 at approximately 4:30 p.m. the same two suspects returned to the store and stole a quantity of fragrances. Employees contacted police after recognizing the suspects from the previous theft.

One suspect was arrested by police shortly after leaving the store.

Pennel Keysan Hunter, 33-years-old of Toronto, has been charged with two counts of theft under $5,000 contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice - Guelph on Feb. 23, 2021 to answer to the charges.

A second suspect fled the area and the investigation is ongoing.
