One charged in Wednesday Bullfrog Plaza stabbings

The Bullfrog Plaza on Eramosa Road was the scene of a stabbing Tuesday.

A Guelph man is facing assault and weapons charges following a stabbing incident Wednesday afternoon.

Approximately 12:30 p.m. Wednesday police say they were called to the Bullfrog Plaza on Eramosa Road near Stevenson Street North for a report of a disturbance involving a stabbing.

Two male youths were transported to hospital for treatment. Their injuries are not considered life-threatening and they have both been released from hospital.

Two males were arrested shortly after the incident. An 18-year-old Guelph man is charged with assault with a weapon and possessing a weapon for a dangerous purpose. He will appear in Guelph bail court Thursday. A second male arrested in the early stages of the investigation has been released without charges.

The investigation is ongoing.
