Police are asking residents in an east end neighbourhood to check their surveillance cameras after a stolen vehicle was recovered early Monday and another was reported stolen.

Just after 3:30 a.m. police were dispatched to reports of males entering vehicles in the area of Law Drive and Fleming Road. Officers located a black Ram pickup parked on the road and determined it had been stolen earlier this month from Hamilton.

While waiting for a tow truck, officers observed a Dodge Journey driving slowly through the area. An officer attempted a traffic stop but the Journey took off and was last seen southbound on Watson Parkway North at a high rate of speed. A short time later the Journey was reported stolen from a residence in the area.

Anyone with information or who has surveillance footage between the hours of 3 a.m. and 4 a.m. are asked to call Const. Mallory Woeller at 519-824-1212, ext. 7462.
