Guelph police say a man was taken to hospital with undetermined injuries following a fire call to the former Holiday Inn Express on Silvercreek Parkway Friday.
The building is currently being used as a temporary housing facility.
Police say the call came in shortly after 11:30 a.m. Five fire trucks responded to the fire call, which was contained to a single second-floor unit filled with smoke.
No fire or smoke was visible outside the building.
That section of Silvercreek Parkway North was temporarily closed to traffic but has since reopened.
