OPP investigating death at Elora Gorge

TOWNSHIP OF CENTRE WELLINGTON, Ont. - On Aug. 29, 2019, at approximately 4 p.m. Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to an injured person call at the Irvine River portion of the Elora Gorge near the David Street Bridge in Centre Wellington. Initial reports indicated that an unknown male had sustained serious trauma and required medical attention.

OPP as well as Guelph-Wellington Paramedics Services and Centre Wellington Fire Rescue attended and the injured male was pronounced deceased on scene. OPP continue to investigate the incident and believe it to be isolated. The name of the individual is being withheld at this time. The David Street Bridge was temporarily closed but is open now.
