Pair charged after man allegedly robbed

One suspect arrested at his home, the other turned himself in

Guelph Police have charged a pair of local men with robbery following a Friday evening incident.

Police report that at around 10:30 p.m., an adult male victim met two adult males at a business in Downtown Guelph.

At 11:10 p.m. they left the business and drove together to a residential complex near the intersection of Willow Road and Applewood Crescent.

Once outside on foot, the two males allegedly pushed the victim to the ground then went through his pockets, taking a cell phone, cell phone case and a pack of cigarettes (total value of approximately $1,500).

The males fled the area. The victim was not injured.

Police were notified of the robbery the next evening.  At 11 p.m. police found one of the men at a residence located near the intersection of Paisley Street and Edinburgh Road North, and the 25-year-old was subsequently arrested and charged with robbery and obstruct police.

On Saturday the other suspect turned himself in to the Guelph Police Headquarters and he was arrested. A 30-year-old Guelph male has been charged with Robbery.

They will both appear in court on Feb. 23.
