Pair of winter weather collisions send three to hospital

One collision knocked out power to some west end homes

Guelph police responded to two collisions during Monday evening’s snowy weather, including one that knocked out power to some west end homes.

Shortly before 8 p.m., police were called to a two-vehicle collision near the intersection of Woodlawn Road West and Silvercreek Parkway North. Two females in one vehicle were taken to hospital by ambulance for treatment of head and neck injuries. One driver was charged with careless driving.

Approximately 10:35 p.m. a resident in the area of Ironwood Road and Walman Drive called to report a vehicle had struck a pole and caused a power outage. A passenger in the vehicle was transported to hospital as a precaution. The driver was complaining of a possible concussion but declined medical treatment. The driver was charged with careless driving.
