Parking lot collision leads to impaired driving charge

It is believed that a truck reversed into a car, causing approximately $2,000 in damage

On April 22, 2018 at approximately 6:30 p.m., Guelph Police were called to a parking lot on Clair Road East where there was a report of a collision. A black GMC pickup had reversed into a grey Toyota, causing approximately $2,000 in damage. No injuries were reported. One of the drivers involved is alleged to have failed a roadside test and was arrested.

A 30-year-old Waterford male was arrested and charged with impaired driving over 80. He was given a May 8, 2018 court date.

On April 22, 2018, Guelph Police traffic officers were conducting a R.I.D.E. enforcement program. At approximately 12:15 a.m., police spoke to a driver and believed that he was impaired by alcohol.

A 53-year-old Guelph male, was arrested and charged with operating a motor vehicle Over 80. He was given a May 11, 2018 court date.
