A Guelph male was arrested on the weekend five months after he broke into mailboxes at a north-end apartment building.

In the early morning hours of December 10, 2020, a male and female entered an apartment building on Speedvale Avenue East near Victoria Road North. While the female served as lookout, the male used various tools to break into mailboxes in the lobby and remove mail. The crime was captured on surveillance video.

A 28-year-old Guelph female was earlier arrested for mischief under $5,000 and theft of mail.

On Saturday night a 39-year-old Guelph male was arrested on those charges as well as possessing break-in instruments and breaching probation. He will appear in a Guelph court August 27.
