Police arrest three teens in assault they allege was hate or bias related

Members of the Guelph Police Service General Investigations Unit have concluded an investigation into an incident that occurred on Dec. 11.

On that date, police responded to a restaurant in the south end of Guelph, where there was a report of a male being assaulted. Police allege that hate or bias is part of this incident.

The General Investigations Unit took over the investigation and followed several leads. On Monday two 15-year-old Guelph males were arrested and charged with assault. On Tuesday, December 28, a Guelph male that was 17 years old at the time of the incident was arrested and charged with assault and mischief under $5,000.

All were released with court dates in February.
