A Guelph man faces weapons charges after a realistic-looking BB gun was brought into a downtown office complex Monday.
Just before 5 p.m. the Guelph police were called to an office on Wyndham Street North regarding a man with a handgun. Staff had seen a male removing a handgun from his backpack and tucking it into his belt.
Officers arrived minutes later and found the man still seated inside. A black Beretta-style BB gun was recovered.
A 33-year-old Guelph man is charged with possessing a weapon for a dangerous purpose, carrying a concealed weapon and possessing a firearm contrary to a prohibition order.
