Canine track leads to two arrests

On September 11, 2016 at 4:40 a.m., the Guelph Police responded to the area of Keys Crescent in regard to a male and female breaking into vehicles.

Both the male and female fled through backyards prior to police arriving on scene.

Police Dog General was utilized to track the suspects. The female was located by the K9 team after a 1.39-km track and was arrested. The male suspect was located by the K9 team two hours later after a 5.5-km track and arrested.

Further investigation discovered that both the male and female also had warrants for their arrest.

Nadia Ayyad, 28 years of Guelph, has been charged with trespass by night and breach undertaking.

Christopher Hulan, 38 years of Guelph, has been charged with trespass by night, obstruct police, assault with intent to resist arrest and three counts of breach of probation.

Both will appear in court on September 12, 2016.
