A Puslinch man faces several driving charges after a lengthy Guelph police investigation into repeated driving complaints.

Police began receiving complaints about a vehicle being driven dangerously in June, 2021, including occurrences of failing to stop for police. Eventually a person of interest was identified and surveillance was conducted over several dates.

On three occasions during the past month, officers observed the vehicle being driven dangerously in the city’s south end. This included driving approximately twice the speed limit in areas with significant vehicle and pedestrian traffic while weaving in and out of traffic.

Each time, officers did not attempt to stop the vehicle in the interest of public safety. A 19-year-old Puslinch man was located outside the city Thursday morning and arrested.

He is charged with three counts of dangerous driving and two counts each of speeding and stunt driving. He has been released with a condition not to occupy the driver’s seat of any motor vehicle and will appear in a Guelph court May 27.
