TOWNSHIP OF CENTRE WELLINGTON - At approximately 7 p.m. on Dec. 25, 2017 Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a vehicle theft at a gas station on St. David Street North, Fergus. A young child was inside the vehicle when it was taken.

The mother of a child was in the store when an unknown suspect entered her unlocked, running vehicle and stole it. Witnesses attempted to intervene but the suspect got away and was last seen fleeing north on Highway 6.
