A Guelph woman faces impaired driving charges following a three-vehicle collision Wednesday morning which involved a school bus, report Guelph police.

Approximately 7:40 a.m. police were dispatched to the area of Imperial Road North and Massey Road. A caller indicated he was rear-ended, pushing his car into a stopped school bus. Fortunately there were no students on the bus and no injuries were reported.

While speaking to one of the drivers, an officer detected an odour of alcohol and saw an empty beer can beside the driver’s seat. The driver failed a roadside breath test and was transported to the police station, where tests indicated she had more than five times the legal limit of alcohol in her system.

A 23-year-old Guelph woman is charged with impaired driving and dangerous driving. Her licence was suspended for 90 days and her vehicle was impounded for seven days.
