Guelph police continue to investigate after two teens were robbed Friday night in an east-end park.

Just before 9 p.m., two 13-year-old males were in the park at the intersection of Grange Road and Watson Parkway North. Three older males entered the park and demanded the victims turn over their backpacks. One of the victims attempted to flee on foot but was chased and knocked to the ground and had his backpack stolen. There were no injuries reported.

The second victim handed over his backpack. A small amount of cash was removed by one of the suspects who then threw the backpack on the ground.

The three males left on foot and were last seen walking westbound on Grange Road. They took the second victim’s backpack, which was green and contained the victim’s wallet with cash and a debit card inside.

The three males were wearing all black clothing and ski masks.

The Guelph Police Service would like to speak to anyone who was in the area at the time or local residents who have security cameras. Anyone with information is asked to contact Const. Joshua van Breda at 519-824-1212, ext. 7417, email him at [email protected], leave a message for Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS) or leave an anonymous tip online at www.csgw.tips.
