Police issue warning to bargoers after noxious substance charge

On Thursday, Jan. 26, 2017, a 20-year-old Guelph male was arrested and charged with administering a noxious substance. This charge stemmed from an incident that occurred in a bar situated in the downtown core in the City of Guelph on Tuesday Jan. 24, 2017.

The accused and the victim were not known to each other. The victim did not suffer additional assaults as a result of this incident.

At this time, no other complainants have come forward in relation to this incident. The Guelph Police Service urges patrons of establishments that primarily serve alcohol to be vigilant about their alcohol consumption and to avoid accepting beverages from strangers.
