Police lay four stunt driving charges in three days

All in the east end, three charges laid along same stretch of Watson Parkway North

A 30-year-old Cambridge woman is charged with speeding and stunt driving after being stopped by police on Watson Parkway North on Wednesday.

During a three-day period earlier this week, Guelph Police laid four stunt driving charges – all related to speeding, with three of them along the same stretch of road in the city’s east end.

On the heels of Sunday afternoon’s reported race along Watson Parkway North that led to charges against two Guelph men – clocked by police going 109 km/h in a 50 km/h zone – officers arrested a woman for stunt driving just down the road, near Grange Road, on Wednesday morning.

At about 11:20 a.m. police on patrol observed a BMW SUV travelling 96 km/h in a 50 km/h zone.

A 30-year-old Cambridge woman was charged with speeding and stunt driving.

On Tuesday, police charged a Guelph man with speeding and stunt driving on Victoria Road North, near Hadati Road.

Each of the accused also had their license suspended for 30 days and their vehicles impounded for 14 days.
