A tenth person has been arrested in connection with an investigation in the summer during which police seized large quantities of drugs, weapons and stolen property, Guelph police reports.
In mid-July police began conducting surveillance on several individuals believed to be involved in drug trafficking and property crimes.
On August 30, officers executed a search warrant just north of the city. During the search officers recovered more than 100 grams of suspected fentanyl, 56 grams of suspected cocaine and more than 500 Oxycocet pills with a total combined street value of more than $20,000.
Also seized were several weapons including a silver handgun, two replica firearms, brass knuckles, a butterfly knife and a cane with a concealed sword as well as stolen property including a motorcycle, bicycle, tools and cosmetics.
Five women and four men, ranging in age from 29 to 71, were previously arrested and face dozens of drug, weapons and property charges.
On Thursday a tenth person, a 49-year-old Guelph man in custody on other charges, was arrested. He is charged with eight counts of possessing a weapon contrary to an order, possessing stolen property over $5,000, two counts of unauthorized possession of a weapon and unauthorized possession of a firearm. He was held for a bail hearing.
