A Fergus woman faces charges after a nurse at a Guelph healthcare facility was attacked twice, Guelph police report.

On Oct. 10 the suspect was agitated and used a sign to repeatedly strike a window of a nursing station. A short time later the woman had fallen asleep in a common area when a nurse woke her. The woman became agitated, punching the nurse in the face and pulling her hair while yelling death threats.

On Tuesday the nurse was tending to another patient when the accused attacked her again, punching her in the face several times and repeatedly kicking her.

The suspect was discharged from the facility Wednesday and was arrested. A 30-year-old Fergus woman is charged with two counts of assault and uttering a death threat. She was held for a bail hearing.
