Police recover over $300,000 from Fergus storage locker

TOWNSHIP OF CENTRE WELLINGTON, ON - On March 19, 2019, Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Major Crime Unit executed a search warrant at a storage locker on Glengarry Crescent in Fergus, Ontario.

The search warrant was the result of an ongoing theft investigation reported by a local business. The thefts occurred over an eight month period and involved one of the business's managers stealing bank deposit bags containing cash. Early estimates put the value of cash stolen at over $300,000 with most of it being recovered by OPP under the warrant.

Emerson James Aden Walker, 22-years-old of Elora, has been charged with Theft over $5,000 and Possession of Stolen Property over $5,000. He is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice on April 26, 2019
