Police release identities in Fergus-area death investigation

OPP say there is no threat to public safety

CENTRE WELLINGTON TOWNSHIP – Members of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) under the direction of OPP Detective Inspector Colleen McCormick of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB) continue their investigation into the deaths of two persons that occurred on Dec. 21, 2016 at a residence on Side Road 18 near Beatty Line.

The bodies were removed from the scene on Dec. 21, 2106 and transported to the Office of the Chief Coroner and Ontario Forensic Pathology Service in Hamilton Ontario, for post mortem examinations. 

The deceased have been identified as 46-year-old Kimberly Nicklasson and 48-year-old Dwayne Nicklasson, residents of the home.

This was an isolated incident, police are not looking for suspect(s) and there is no threat to public safety.  The investigation is continuing.
