GUELPH/ERAMOSA - On Sept. 20, 2017 at approximately 7:30 a.m., members of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a vehicle theft from Wilson Street, Eden Mills.

Investigation revealed that the vehicle was parked in a driveway close to the street. The vehicle was unlocked and the keys were left in the vehicle. The owner also left his wallet including identification and debit cards in the vehicle.

The vehicle is described as a 2004 Toyota Tacoma truck, grey in colour with a licence plate of AK41945.

To help prevent future incidents, the OPP would like to remind everyone about the 'Lock It or Lose It' campaign. It is a crime prevention program that reminds the public to lock their vehicles and remove any valuables and keys from within. This helps reduce the motivation and likelihood of this type of property crimes.

Anyone with any information about this occurrence is asked to contact the Wellington County OPP at 1-888-310-1122.

Should you wish to remain anonymous, you may call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS) or submit a tip online. You may be eligible for a reward from Crime Stoppers of up to $2,000.
