A Guelph female faces several charges after wearing reportedly stolen boots Wednesday back to the scene of the crime.

Approximately 10:20 a.m., staff from a business on Silvercreek Parkway North contacted police to report two suspects from an earlier shoplifting incident were inside the store. The caller advised each suspect had stolen boots a week earlier and both were wearing them at the time of the Wednesday call.

Officers checked the area, locating the female inside another business and placing her under arrest. A search incident to arrest revealed a small amount of suspected pink fentanyl, a pair of brass knuckles and identification in someone else’s name.

A 33-year-old Guelph female is charged with possessing stolen property, possessing a controlled substance, possessing a weapon, possessing identity documents and two counts of breaching probation. She was held for a bail hearing Thursday.

The male suspect was not located. He is described as a black male who was wearing a black coat and tan Timberland boots and carrying a red backpack. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 519-824-1212 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).
