A Guelph male faces assault charges after confronting two neighbours with a knife on the weekend.

About 10:30 a.m. Saturday police were called to an apartment building in the area of Bagot Street and Willow Road. Two residents were arguing loudly in a hallway when a third resident intervened.

One of the residents went back into his unit and got a kitchen knife, which he brandished toward his two neighbours before dropping it and retreating back into his apartment. There were no injuries reported.

A 25-year-old Guelph male is charged with two counts of assault with a weapon. He was released on bail and will next appear in a Guelph court June 8.
