TOWNSHIP OF WELLINGTON NORTH - On Sunday July 9, 2017 at approximately 6:30 p.m., a Wellington County OPP officer was monitoring traffic on Highway 6, Wellington North. 

The officer observed a male driving a 2003 Chevrolet travelling at a speed that appeared to be well above the posted speed limit. The vehicle was locked on radar in excess of 140 km/h in an 80 km/h zone.

18-year-old Gregory Paul James Hare of Guelph has been charged with Race a Motor Vehicle contrary to the Highway Traffic Act and will appear in Guelph Provincial Court on Aug 16, 2017.

His driver's licence and vehicle were seized for a period of seven days as per statute.
