Police search for suspect after teen robbed

Police say the suspect threatened the victim with rocks and claimed to have a weapon

On June 20, 2020, the Guelph Police were contact by a 17-year-old male who had been robbed of property while hanging out with friends in an area near Wellington Street West and the Hanlon Parkway in the City of Guelph. A small group of friends were hanging out when they noticed two males in the area. As the group prepared to leave the area, [it is alleged that] one of the males approached holding rocks in his hand and made a demand for property. A short scuffle occurred between the suspect and victim, at which point the suspect claimed to have a weapon while continuing his demand for property.

The victim dropped his backpack and he and his friends were able to get away. The suspect took the backpack and left the area.

The suspect is described as  male, white, dirty blond hair with a buzz cut, approximately 6 feet tall, approximately 30 years of age.

The friend of the suspect is described as male, white, approximately 6 feet tall and approximately 30 years of age.
