Police seek Erin assault suspect

Police say the suspect was exiting an unlocked basement door at the victim's home when the assault took place

TOWN OF ERIN, ON - On Jan. 23, 2021, at approximately 2:00 p.m. members of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of an assault in progress on Ninth Line in the Town of Erin.

It was reported that the victim had just arrived at their home when they observed an unknown male suspect exiting an unlocked basement door. The victim was assaulted after confronting the suspect. The victim received minor injuries.

The suspect was last observed getting into a dark-coloured sedan which last seen travelling southbound on Ninth Line towards Tenth Side Road in Erin.

The suspect is described as male, early 20s with a dark complexion, 6 feet tall with a thin build. He was wearing a blue "puffer" jacket and black track pants.

OPP are asking the public for their assistance in identifying the suspect involved in this incident. Police are interested in speaking with anyone who may have been in the area with dashcam footage.
