Police seek suspect in Downtown Guelph robbery

Guelph police are investigating a robbery which occurred Sunday inside a downtown business.

A female was inside a business near Woolwich Street and Eramosa Road about 3:35 p.m. when a male grabbed cash out of her hand and fled. The female chased the male, who was last seen running eastbound across the Heffernan Street footbridge. The victim was not injured.

The male is described as Caucasian, late 20s, thin build with dark hair. He was wearing a dark jacket, white toque, jeans and carrying a plastic shopping bag.

The investigation is ongoing. Anyone who has information or recognizes the male in the attached photo is asked to call Cst.
