Police seize $30K worth of fentanyl, MDMA and cocaine

Guelph police conducted surveillance on a man known to them who was on a release order including conditions to remain in his residence 24 hours a day and not operate a motor vehicle.

As officers watched, the man drove to several locations around the city. Officers conducted a traffic stop when it was safe to do so, at which point a woman was driving and the man was in the passenger seat. Both were placed under arrest.

During a search incident to arrest officers located large amounts of fentanyl, cocaine and MDMA with a total estimated value of $29,500.

A 29-year-old Guelph male and 31-year-old Guelph woman are jointly charged with three counts of possessing controlled substances for the purpose of trafficking.

The man is also charged with two counts of breaching a release order. Both were held for bail hearings.
