A hammer is set for destruction after being seized by police on Tuesday evening.
Police responded to reports of a man acting erratically and swinging a hammer in the air at about 7:30 p.m. in the area of Wyndham Street North and Carden Street. As officers approached the man, he threw the hammer into some nearby bushes, a police news release explains.
With no indication the man used the hammer in a threatening manner, he was sent on his way without being charged.
