Police spot suspected meth pipe, make arrest

Police say the accused also had stolen property and break and enter tools in his backpack

On Friday, Aug. 30 at approximately 7:30 a.m., police were conducting proactive patrols in the area of Victoria Road and York Road when they observed a male holding [an alleged] glass methamphetamine pipe. The male was approached by officers, and he quickly concealed the pipe in his backpack.

The 34-year-old male from Orangeville was arrested for possession of a controlled substance. A search incident to arrest was conducted and officers located stolen property and break and enter tools in the male’s backpack. He was further charged with five counts of possession of stolen property and one count of possession of break-in tools.

He was subsequently released on a Promise to Appear with a court date of Oct. 18, 2019.
