Officers met the homeowner as they arrived home and were invited inside, where they found the male asleep on the couch. He was arrested for transportation fraud, and during a subsequent search officers found a number of prescription opioid pills for which he did not have a prescription.
The homeowner further advised the male did not have permission to be in the residence, and investigation also revealed he was wanted in another jurisdiction for failing to appear in court.
A 28-year-old Guelph male is charged with transportation fraud, possessing a controlled substance, being unlawfully in a dwelling, failing to attend court and breach of probation. He was turned over to the other police service on their warrant and will appear in court on the Guelph charges Jan. 4.
