Two months after a dispute between roommates regarding smoking turned violent, a Guelph man faces a number of charges.

Police were called to a Janefield Avenue address on Sept. 15 after an adult male said he was smoking outside when he was confronted by a roommate about smoke going through that roommate’s window, a news release explains.

During the confrontation, the alleged victim was struck in the head and face with a metal pry bar, causing lacerations that required stitches. He also lost two teeth when he bit the roommate’s arm in an effort to avoid being choked.

On Friday, a 37-year-old Guelph man turned himself in to police. He’s charged with assault with a weapon, assault causing bodily harm and breaching a probation order.
